Vocal Sessions

Along with the many bands that record at Fitdog, we have created a niche for ourselves in recording vocalists and solo artists. Our range of interest has taken us from Country to big show numbers to rock and pop.

It’s relatively easy to record just vocals with a backing track, but not as easy to create a great sound. Now that we can do! Mind you, having top Neumann mics help..

Singers who wish to record show cases of their talent may also want to prepare for auditions, create demos for record companies and for such shows as "The X Factor" . If requested we can put the tracks in the right format to go on your myspace site.

This is how it goes:

Arrive on the day with your backing tracks on CD or if you work with another musician or accompanist we'd love to involve them within the session.

We load the tracks onto the computer.

You lay down the vocals and any backing vocals or instrumentals.

We mix the final product and hand you the finished CD

Being Relaxed is important

It is our job to get the best out of you as the artist. Never worry that we will become impatient and intolerant. We will help you coax out your best performance possible - promise. We can only do that by making you feel happy and relaxed.

We do Vocals....rather well
We are really proud of some of the vocal recordings
we have recorded over the last four years.
Many of our singers have moved on to appearing in
West End shows, major venues and tours.

This experience has helped us to create a
great understanding of what a vocalist needs and
how to help them achieve their best performance
in a studio environment.

We have built up links with some outstanding
vocal coaches who enjoy working with their students
at Fitdog.

We are happy to put people in contact with each other.

If it is your first time in a studio we will make sure that
you relax, have fun and be amazed at what you have achieved.

How many hours should we book in a day?

About 3 to 4 hours is about right to make sure that you get the best out of your voice. Too long a session and your voice will become tired and strained. It's a precious instrument, so look after it!
