With our ability to mic up every drum (using around 10 quality microphones) to include the bass, 2 guitars, a stereo output for keyboards and a guide vocal and  to then record the whole band in one take was a primary design brief of the studio.

What do we mean by the statement "Quality Equipment"?

Anything that a top producer would use to make the best possible recording. Essential Quality issues applied at Fitdog are:

• No Hum (we have an isolated ring main built into the design)
• No Hiss (we are a completely digital setup)
• No Muddiness (We use the most expensive and best quality balanced cabling and connectors available throughout.
• No Background Noise (Our recording areas are silent)
• Sparkling Sound (We use Class A circuitry throughout, top microphones and famous Pro-Tools plug-ins

 We do this for a living (not a hobby) 7 days a week and have been doing so for 3 years. We record bands and vocalists throughout the week and weekends from rock to classical, creating a wealth of experience across the genres.

We believe in using the best equipment and software available and to then use it until something justifies it's replacement.

We keep abreast of new developments, selecting those that are proven to better our results and not hinder them.

While we may suggest that the guitar is out of tune or the bass sounds dull - the final say will always fall to the band members. You are the ones that have to be happy with what you have achieved. Our responsibility lies as an absolute minimum to reproduce every performance accurately. However with our experience, equipment and knowledge we set our own standards to produce larger than life results and lots of  smiles all around. That is where we get our job satisfaction and why bands keep coming back.

Having worked with computers for 20 years we know how they can improve productivity. Being a bit of an anorak can help - it's the detailed knowledge of computer software that can really make the difference to your session.

• Unlike analogue or digital tape, session remixes are a doddle and every single setting including fader movements and effect settings are remembered. It's so quick to setup an old session that we don't even have to include a setup fee.
• Correcting mistakes can be as simple as copying a repeated phrase from another part of the song.
• Giving a sound more body is as simple as copying the track and then adding different effects to the copy which is then blended with the original.
• Everything is Undoable
• Everything is doable
